DGIST entered a ‘MOU between DGIST Convergence Research Center and Patron Co., Ltd. (CEO Jong-gu Kim) to develop Next Generation Mobile Sensor Modules in the research head office at 11am on Wednesday, May 15.
This MOU aims to support mutual growth by integrating the DGIST’s next generation intelligent device technology and Patron’s knowhows of mobile sensor module development. From now on, DGIST will be transferring source technology on the various types of next generation mobile sensor modules to Patron.
Patron plans to ▲ Provide evaluation solutions and knowhows for next generation mobile sensor module products, ▲Organize joint research consortium to receive large-scale government projects on intelligent sensor development, and ▲Support human resources development for next generation sensor. Patron will also conduct industry-academy-research joint R&D cooperation with DGIST.
Through this MOU, DGIST plans to lay the framework of next generation intelligent sensor development, and spur the development of various technologies that will lead the 4th industrial revolution.
Research Head Ho-young Kim of DGIST said “Through this MOU, we hope to strengthen competitiveness of companies by transferring source technologies that are developed based on DGIST’s excellent research infrastructure, and takes a great step forward in the development of advanced source technology.”
Patron Co., Ltd. is a parts company that split from Samsung Electro-Mechanics in 2003. It currently holds No.1 market share in the domestic mobile sensor field and produces various products such as smart band, medical devices, and wireless chargers. Patron also has various parts business in camera module, antenna, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, fingerprint recognition sensor, etc.
